The next forza horizon installment, FH3, has much better graphics, a huge map dwarfing FH2s map, has much more interaction, and has over 300 more cars . So while this is a great game, it's successor FH3 is much much better. I would say if you haven't played any new open worlds, start with this one.

If you've played the new ones, stay away from this game unless you just want to see how far we have come. You're still gonna love this game if you go from FH2 to FH3 and back, but I fear if you go from FH3 to FH2 then you're going to realize how spoiled you've been and it will ruin the experience. As far as language and nudity goes, the expert review says it all. Some song lyrics on your radio use the word "damn" and that's about it . There are some AIs on the side that are in bikinis, but it's not like you're at a strip club.

It's fantastic, because you don't ever have to drive a vehicle you don't want to - at least, not when it comes to the driving events. There are usually about two races per car, and there are about 20 main missions in the game; however, all of that can easily be completed in an hour or two.

There is other side stuff, such as reward boards to crash into and skill score events, but there is little of substance to do outside of unlocking the cars. And honestly, the other stuff doesn't matter; none of the side stuff is tied to the Achievements, and it unlocks nothing new. After beating the core game I found myself speeding through Nice with little to do and quickly moving onto other things. Where you will find most improvement though by the jump in generation is not surprisingly the graphics. The visuals and draw distance in FH2 are stunning and we really do think this is the first racing game we have played that shows the generation jump and what is possible.

The location of Europe offers some stunning visuals and one of the hardest things to get right in a racing game, the cockpit view, is utterly perfect. Usually we find the engine slows down, or the car feels slower from the cockpit view, but the developers have knocked this one out of the park. Music wise, there are numerous radio stations that range from dance style music through to classical, although not all are available from the outset with many being unlocked, as you progress through the game.

Whilst Forza Horizon kept you on the tarmac, FH2 introduces off-road racing, along with its more traditional counterpart. Quite simply, in particular championships, you will be roughing it in the middle of fields and paddocks, trying to keep hold of the powerful engine sitting in the light chassis. It adds a new element of challenge to the series and offers some of the tensest racing around. There is nothing like driving through a field not being able to see in front of you, trying to determine where the next checkpoint is.

The drivatar model from Forza Motorsport 5 is present here as well with friends making up the bulk of your competitors. Along with this change comes the Bucket List, the chance to drive super powerful cars before being able to afford them in the game. As with the originalForza Horizon, Playground Games have kept the frame rate at 30 fps, a noticeable dip from the 60 fps of Forza Motorsport. Still, that 30 fps appeared to be rock-solid in our time playing, even when there was plenty of action on-screen. The cars have fully rendered interiors, as you might expect in 2014, and Forza Horizon 2 gives them a little more to do thanks to dynamic day-to-night transitions and dynamic weather, a first for the series.

I drive like an utter arse in most racing games, cutting corners and driving through sand traps and chicanes so I can gain an advantage while the rest of the AI racers have play it straight and follow the rules. Forza Horizon 2 simply embraces the cheatin' bastard ethic and accepts that if there are corners to be cut, and fields to be driven across to shave seconds off your race time, you're going to do it. Forza Horizon 2, is a very realistic racing game with a massive storyline and can get you playing for hours on end, it features 100s of different cars and it will give you days of fun.

At the time I'm writing this, Forza Horizon 2 is over 6 years old, but some people are still playing it. It is a fairly good arcade-style racing game that would please many players of all ages. However, some downsides can impede your playing experience. Privacy concerns when playing Online Freeroam or Online Roadtrip have come up over the years, and some parents have banned their kids from playing with the online features enabled for various reasons.

But if you are of older age and playing, I believe that this game would be completely fine to play through, whether it be online or in person. The basic premise of the game is to drive around and participate in different types of driving events. As the XP builds up, you'll earn new wristbands, which entitle you to enter more events. The game allows the player to connect with their friends instantly which makes it more interesting. The game also takes the players through hilly and snowy sites which can be quite challenging to drive especially in games like racing. The game released various downloadable packs of the contents required in a racing car.

On 27 August 2014, Microsoft announced that a demo version of the game would be made available on Xbox One on 16 September 2014. On the day of the demo release, Microsoft confirmed that the game had been declared gold, indicating it was being prepared for duplication and release.
